Cleaning a dog’s teeth is an important part of their care. Within 2 – 3 hours of eating, plaque starts to form. Over time the plaque hardens forming tartar. This builds up on the teeth, particularly along the gum line, causing diseases such as Gingivitis and Periodontitis, as well as dental decay. Bacteria from the plaque and tartar can also enter the blood stream where it is then transported around the entire body with the potential of causing damage everywhere. This disease risk, painful inflammation and tooth loss can be relatively easily prevented by good dental hygiene.
Emmi-pet is a revolutionary, unique and patented dental protection and oral hygiene system. It is gentle, silent and motionless and does not involve brushing or any abrasive action so it can be tolerated by even the most sensitive animals. The toothbrush is simply held to the dog's teeth, and the cleaning is carried out by the ultrasound.

THE SCIENCE BIT!
The globally unique, patented Ultrasonic Piezo-Chip sits in the head of the toothbrush, directly behind the bristles and generates up to 96 million ultrasonic waves (air vibrations) per minute. These waves are transferred, via the bristles of the toothbrush-head, into Emmi-pet's specially formulated toothpaste. At this point micro-bubbles are generated, which react with the air vibrations and implode. These implosions effectively remove food particles, plaque and bacteria from within your pet’s mouth. The ultrasonic waves penetrate up to 12mms deep into the gums and therefore not only clean the teeth, but also prevent disease and odour.
